Simcha Raphael Simcha Raphael, PhD, teaches in the Department of Religion at LaSalle University, serves as a Spiritual Director at Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and has a transpersonal psychotherapy practice in Philadelphia. He has been involved in spiritually oriented death awareness education for over 20 years and is author of the book Jewish Views of the Afterlife.
Frank Ostaseski Frank Ostaseski helped form the Zen Hospice Project, the first Buddhist hospice in America, in 1987. In 2004, he created The Alaya Institute to seed the culture with innovative approaches to end-of-life care that reaffirm the spiritual dimensions of dying. A primary project of the institute is its End-of-Life Counselor Program that Frank leads with faculty members Ram Dass, Rachel Naomi Remen MD, and many others.
